PAROL MAKING CONTEST

Guidelines and Mechanics:

• The contest is open to all parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai.
• The contest is limited to one entry per parishioner, family, group or flat.
• All entries must be a new creation and original artwork.
• The Parol must be of free interpretation with no limitation on use of materials.
• Lighting is needed to enhance the visual effect and should be maintained
  consistently throughout the Simbang Gabi event. However, candles and live wire
  are not permissible (for safety purposes).
• Parol size should not be more than 1 m in diameter or 1.0m x 1.0m (STAR frame)

Deadline for Submission : DECEMBER 12, 2025

Criteria for Judging:

1. Originality & Creativity – 30%
2. Visual Impact -30%
3. Presentation & Symbolism – 20%
4. Proper use of indigenous/recycled material -20%

DIORAMA MAKING CONTEST

Guidelines and Mechanics :

• The contest is open to all parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai.
• The contest is limited to one entry per parishioner, family, group or flat.
• All entries must be a new creation and original artwork.
• The Christmas Village / Diorama must be made of recycled or indigenous materials. Lighting is needed to enhance the visual effect and should be maintained consistently throughout the Simbang Gabi event.
• Box size should be 40 cm x 35 cm x 30 cm (storage box size or smaller)

Deadline for Submission : DECEMBER 12, 2025

Criteria for Judging:

1. Originality & Creativity – 30%
2. Visual Impact – 30%
3. Presentation & Symbolism – 20%
4. Proper use of indigenous/recycled material – 20%

CHRISTMAS CAROL WRITING CONTEST

Guidelines and Mechanics:

• The song must be written and performed in English or Tagalog : 2 – 3 minutes
• Entries must be submitted as a pre-recorded song (audio format).
• The song should reflect Catholic values and embody the theme: PASKO SA JUBILEO 2025: Ang Inang Maria ang ating Kalakbay, Patungo Kay Hesukristo, ang Pag-asa ng ating Buhay (Mary, Our Guide, Leading Us to Christ, The Hope of Our Lives)
• The song must be original and not previously published or performed commercially.
• Open to all Filipino parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai

1. MP3 audio of your song
2. Lyrics of the song
3. Your contact details: Name, Email, and Mobile Number

• All submitted song entries shall become the full property of the SMCC Filipino Community. By joining the contest, participants agree that their entries may be used by the community for internal and non-commercial purposes, including events, promotions, and publications, with the participant’s name duly recognized as the creator.
• Song entries may not be sold, distributed, or used for commercial purposes by the participant after submission.

INNOVATIVE CHRISTMAS ATTIRE

Guidelines and Mechanics for Innovative Christmas Attire Contest:

• The contest is open to all parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai.
• All entries must be a new creation, innovate and original artwork for INDIVIDUAL and GROUP category
• All Christmas Attire must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.
• Christmas Attire must be worn during the date/s of the contest – 23rd Dec 2025
• Top TEN (10) candidates will be declared winners for each category (INDIVIDUAL and GROUP)

DECEMBER 23, 2025 : Girl’s Compound (7:45 PM – 7:55 PM )

2. Presentation & Symbolism – 25%
