Your parol will surely add to the luster of our decorations in the church compound.
Guidelines and Mechanics for Parol Making Contest:
- The contest is open to all parishioners of St. Mary’s Church, Dubai.
- The contest is limited to one entry per parishioner, family, group or flat.
- All entries must be a new creation and original artwork.
- The Parol must be made of recycled or indigenous materials.
- Lighting is needed to enhance the visual effect and should be maintained consistently throughout the Simbang Gabi event.
- However, candles and live wire are not permissible (for safety purposes).
- Parol size should not be more than 1 meter in diameter or 1.0m x 1.0m
- Deadline of Submission: Extended till December 14, 2024, in Fr. Leny Escalada’s Office, Room 10
Top three (3) candidates will be declared winners; 1st, 2nd, ,3rd, and 3 Consolation Prices
Criteria for Judging for Parol Making Contest:
- Originality & Creativity 30%
- Presentation & Symbolism 25%
- Visual Impact 25%
- Proper use of indigenous/recycled material 20%
